Cloghboola

February 11th 2013
Yet another local stone today. We have got to go into Skibb, so a slight diversion takes us through the Townlands of Lissanoohig and Cloghboola.
At the end of the lane in a field to the right sits a fascinating stone. It is aligned N-S and stands at 1.4m high x 0.7 x 0.1. What makes it fascinating is the fact that three notches have been carved into it. One on the top, one on the Northern edge and one on the Southern edge. A ring fort stands to the SW in the adjoining field.
